Master Soon sharesmeaningful
insights on
howthe year of the
greenwoodhorsewill influence
the local propertymarket
.
Soonhas invested 20 years in
researching the established and
esoteric facets of Chinese
metaphysics andmind strategies,
plus unorthodox patterns of luck
changingmethodology. He
specialises in business feng shui
consultations, besides offering
expertise inChinesemetaphysics
He has also been invited by
corporations inMalaysia,
Singapore, Switzerland, India,
Thailand, HongKong andChina to
share his knowledge. Some of his
past seminars include topics like
“Feng shui for property investors”,
“Howto select an auspicious
property”, “Activating home feng
shui”, “Property investment and
property projection” and “Economy
anddevelopment perspective”. His
provenunconventionalmodus
operandi in tracking luck design
is said to be effective, striking
and impressive.
Feng shui foresight
Looking back, 2012was the year of
thewater dragon (RenChen) and
2013, the year of thewater snake
(Gui Si). Soon explains that the
water element is “transformational,
convertible and switchable because
water can change its form,
transforming fromliquid to solid
or steam”. He also points out that
the geographical silhouette of
PeninsulaMalaysia is akin to the
shape of a snake or dragon. Hence,
its relevance, consonance and
synchronicity to thewater dragon
and snake yearswhen the property
market inMalaysiawas “very
vibrant and strong, yet cunning
and snaky” .
In 2014, Soon expects conditions
that are likely to be quite different
fromthe past two years, driven by
the difference betweenwater and
wood elements.
“Wood represents
reinforcement, consolidation,
strengthening andunification of
new life. The horse is the seventh
signunder the 12-symbol Chinese
zodiac. It is also signifies the
beginning of the secondhalf of
the remaining zodiac/symbols,” said
Soon. With that, he expects 2014 to
resonate as a year inwhich there
will bemuch reinforcementwhere
the property industry is concerned.
Ayearwhere property
regulationswill bemade firmer
and awareness of property
speculative riskswill increase
,”
says Soon.
He also explains that the
wood element signifiesmarket
consciousness and confidence,
as it conquers the earth element
which identifieswith the property
industry. Therefore, Soon expects
the propertymarket to be
affected
byweaker buyer-confidence,
whichwill thus shape amore
moderatemarket. In general,
he foresees a slowdown in
propertydemand.
property landscape
In feng shui theory, power is derived
fromthemountains or the rivers
and lakes, whichever is “dominant”
in a country/region. “Malaysia
draws its feng shui power fromthe
dominantmountains, the
TitiwangsaRange, which runs from
Thailand in the north, all theway to
the deep south, withKL in the
middle,” said Soon. He further
amplifies that: “themountainous
andhilly power does not sitwell
with the horse. Unlike donkeys,
horses are uncomfortable and
cannot run inmountainous terrain.
ForMalaysia, 2014 should be better
leveraged by appreciating the
concept of the donkey and the hilly
terrain as the donkey canmove
smoothly through the hills,” Soon
reveals. He interprets the year
to be one that is not vibrant but
patient, accommodating, calm
and tolerant. “Despite the slow
and sluggishnature of the donkey
(whichdovetailswith the property
industry), this animal is also
endurable and sustainable.”
The propertymarket
will be favorable to those
with cash to sustain and
uphold their long termproperty
investments. Otherwise, itwill
be unfavorable, especially to the
“cashless speculators” and those
overloadedwithmultiple loans
andover-burdenedwith
payment commitments
.” In
summary, he says that
the industry
will experience conservative
and careful sentimentswith a
sense of cautiousness
. “Indonkey
style,
the propertymarket
will see a considerably “cool
climate”, one that is calmbut
withmore forethought
.”
Directions for 2014
While the horse is related to
characteristics inclinedwith
being adventurous, courageous,
fearless and risk-taking, the nature
of the donkey steersmore towards
conservative, rural, domesticated,
lowrisk-taking and calmdemeanor.
Soon thus concludes and
describes the propertymarket
for the year of the horse as:
an overall relaxing atmosphere;
properties in the outskirtswill
bemorewelcome than inner
city areas;
conducive for lowrisk
investments; and
favourable formountain or
seaside properties.
Those bornunder the
Chinese year of theRat, Ox,
Rabbit andHorsemust be
very careful in terms of loss in
property investment. This year
will be favorable to those born
in the year of theTiger, Goat
andDog
.”
“GREENWOOD” HORSE
Soon reveals thatwoodhas
significance to the beginning
of life or new life. He puts this into
perspective anddescribes 2014 as
“a yearwherewewill witness a
newkind of property ‘platform’
and a swift change fromthe
previous property paradox.
Thismeans
2014 is a cooling
period for overheatedproperty
prices
.”He adds: “Nevertheless,
prime areaswill still be able to
sustainprices, due to scarcity.”
Soon relates the colour green
withnature. He believes that
the local tourismindustrywill
becomemore vibrant andproperty
associatedwith this industry, like
budget hotels, will benefit in 2014.
“Malaysia, inChinese characters
is
马来西亚。
” or “ma”means
horse. The colour green resonates
with theMalay race, the religion of
Islamand the government, in the
Malaysian context. “
” (horse) is
reflected as the turning point in the
year 2014 – the beginning of new life.
Expect the propertymarket to
transformfromone “full of
speculation” toone that ismore
“regulative, with intervention
fromthe government
”.
Soon’s final word of advice
for better luck, health and
prosperity in the year of the horse:
Be sincere, practice filial piety,
showrespect for seniors, and
apply kindness, courtesy,
righteousness, reliability
andwisdom
.”
